Baseball beats Minnewaska

The Albany Huskies baseball team defeated visiting Minnewaska Area 5-3 on Friday in a non-conference game between Section 6AA rivals. The Huskies led 5-0 after five innings.

Kyle Zierden got the pitching win in five innings on the mound with four hits, three walks and seven strikeouts. Riley Voit pitched the top of the seventh inning and was credited with a save. Taylor Fourre had two hits with one double while scoring one run to lead Albany at the plate.

Albany squared their record at 3-3 with the win and next hosts Foley in Granite Ridge Conference action on Tuesday with first pitch at 5 p.m. The Falcons are 3-1 in the conference and 4-2 overall.
