Albany boys win 20th
Beat Melrose 62-44
The Huskie boys basketball team took on long-time and former West Central Conference rival Melrose and won 62-44 at Albany.
The game was tight through most of the first half with the Huskies holding on to a two-point lead, 27-25, with about two minutes to go before the half.
That’s when Albany had a nice run to go ahead by eight at half time as Dalton Finken converted two free throws and Zac Tomsche and Kenny Weber hit two two-point field goals.
In the second half the Huskies continued to build on their lead with three and a half remaining were up by 20, 60-40.
The win gives the Huskies a 20-5 record with one regular season game to go when they travel to Milaca Thursday.
