Albany softball wins playoff opener

The Albany Huskies softball team is playing their best ball right now, and their timing couldn't be better.
On Monday in the Sub-Section 6AA-East playoff opener, the Huskies dug deep and plated five runs in the top of the ninth inning to erase third-seeded Little Falls (7-10) from contention in an 11-6 win.

Albany, seeded sixth with a 6-10 overall record, now plays second-seeded Holdingford at 5 p.m. Tuesday (today) at Rivers Edge Park in Waite Park. The Huskers are 10-5 overall and shut out Foley 10-0 in their playoff opener on Monday.
