Albany Huskies boys' basketball season ends in tough OT loss
Final score from Sauk Centre High School on Thursday night: Mainstreeters 65, Huskies 62 OT.
Albany held a slim 40-37 lead with 10 minutes left in the second half. Both teams were deadlocked at 54-all when regulation play ended.
The Huskies finish 12-13 overall this season.

Albany Huskies girls' basketball season comes to a close
The Huskies' season ended in a 70-52 loss to Sauk Centre in the Sub-Section 6AA-North girls' basketball semifinals.

Holthaus falls by decision in his 'state' wrestling opener
Carter Holthaus lost in a decision to Quade Zupko (35-7) of Chisago Lakes Area in today's Class A state wrestling opener. He sits at 24-16 overall while waiting to see how Zupko fares in his quarterfinal match. If Zupko wins, Holthaus will wrestle in tonight's wrestleback matches after 8 p.m. at XCel.
**Update on Friday night...Holthaus got another lease on life at 'state' and picked up a win in the consolation bracket by a 3-2 margin over Matt Lloyd of Mongomery Lonsdale/Le Center. He continues action on Saturday morning at Xcel Energy Center at 10 a.m.

Huskies defeat Pierz in girls' basketball playoff opener

They led 27-24 at halftime and expanded their lead over the Pioneers to 15 points in the second half.
Pierz staged a small rally but ultimately lost 61-53.
Up next for the Huskies girls' basketball team: the sub-section semifinal round on Saturday, Mar. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at St. John's University. Later on the same court that night, Melrose Area faces Staples-Motley in the other semifinal.

6AA-North seedings are in - Albany gets #5 ranking
After closing out the regular season with a non-conference game at Class 3A Big Lake tomorrow night, the Albany Huskies boys' basketball team enters the postseason with a #5 ranking in the 8-team Sub-Section 6AA-North. They begin with a quarterfinal game at #4-seed Sauk Centre (14-8) next Thursday at 7 p.m.
The sub-section semifinals continue at St. John's University the following Saturday, with the finals scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 13 at the same location.
