Albany softball finishes 6th at state tournament

In today's consolation championship game of the Class 2A state tournament, the Albany Huskies softball team lost 8-5 against Mound Westonka. They erased a 2-0 deficit when they scored twice in the second inning, and then a 3-3 score stood up through a good portion of the game before the White Hawks (18-10, Section 5 champions) pulled in front 8-5 and held on for the win.

Albany finishes another sparkling season with a 20-3 overall record after their second straight appearance in the state tournament.

Be sure to get a copy of next week's Albany Enterprise, which will have game stories and photos from the tournament.
