Albany softball is section final bound, baseball knocks out top-ranked Little Falls

What an incredible night for Albany Huskies fans!

At Whitney Park in St. Cloud, the Albany Huskies softball team defeated Staples-Motley 3-0 to land a spot in Thursday night's Section 6AA championship series for the second year in a row. They take on Little Falls, who beat Staples-Motley 5-3 in an elimination game tonight. The first game of the section championship  is at 5 p.m. on Thursday at Whitney Park. If the Huskies win that game, they advance to state.

Across town at Dick Putz Field, the Albany Huskies baseball team vanquished top-ranked and once-beaten Little Falls 3-2 in eight innings to put themselves in the Sub-Section 6AA-East championship game. That is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Dick Putz Field on Thursday, March 31. They'll take on #2-seeded St. Cloud Cathedral, who knocked out third-seeded Paynesville Area 6-0 tonight in the other semifinal.
